Evolution is very much superior in its mono incarnation, with the stereo tracks sporting poorly considered stereo separation and a lack of balance or impact. Although a little spotty, Evolution provides an interesting bridge between the Hollies beat-based sound of their early albums and the full-on psychedelia of their Butterfly period. The pop aspects are still the main attributes here and the sometimes indiscreet and missplaced psychedelic aspects don't completely ruin the sound. PARLOPHONE CAT No PCS 7022 MATRIX Nos / MOTHER / STAMPS YEX 635-1 ( 1 A ) YEX 636-1 ( 1 A ) COVER This is an original tri-flapped GARROD & LOFTHOUSE cover, which is in very nice condition, the front laminate is clear and bright with no bubbling, lifting and just some creases to fault.The spine is square and strong with fully readable text, no splits or cracking. The corners are all in crisp shape exception for the lower one that has a little bruise.The rear panel is very clean with no writing, marks etc!
The flaps are all intact and faultless. Overall a lovely clean example with nothing more than some light laminate creases ( see-pics ) EXCELLENT CONDITION! VINYL Both sides have a lovely fresh deep glossy shine and even upon close inspection only a couple of faint wispy paper removal marks are just visable, looks superb.upon playing it sounds ( as you would expect ) very clear and bright audio through both channels,with no pops, skips or repeats and just a little static crackle between tracks, a super looking and sounding example of this rarer stereo format!
