Director Peter Hyams' 1986 action-comedy Running Scared, starring Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines, is an underrated cop/buddy flick. The Running Scared soundtrack is a hodgepodge of typical mid-'80s sounds. The standout song, 'Sweet Freedom' by Doobie Brothers alumnus Michael McDonald, was a Top Ten hit single, and this soundtrack serves up the unedited seven-and-a-half-minute version of this pop/R&B-soaked, horn-heavy winner.
